Hello all!! I’m so excited for Christmas and we just had an absolutely beautiful snowfall so it is actually beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 🥳 Unfortunately, with this gorgeous snowy weather comes a lot of dryness and static. My hair is particularly susceptible to weather change so often I have to change up my hair care routine in response to the added dryness!
Through PinchMe’s sample program, I received this sample of Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask! Just in time too, as I’m just starting to work on countering the extra dryness in my (already) dry hair as well as the split ends and frizz this dryness brings! So is this the dream product that fixes all of my seasonal problems? Let’s check it out!
Q and A-
Question: Is Moroccanoil a clean brand?
Answer: Sort of… Their products are free of Phthalates and Parabens. However, some of their products contain ingredients that are not natural. Read the ingredients list on their products before buying if you prefer all natural products.
Question: What is Argon Oil good for?
Answer: Argon oil is a main ingredient in Moroccanoil products! This oil is amazing both when consumed (just the oil not the Moroccanoil products) and when used topically. This oil is hydrating both for hair strands and scalp. It may also reduce breakage, split ends, and prevent hair loss.
Question: What are the benefits of using a hair mask?
Answer: Hair masks are great because they are packed with a concentrated mix of effective ingredients. They can take your hydration, moisturizing, and strengthening game deeper, pushing past what conditioners are capable of. They are easy to use and address specific scalp and hair issues.
Moroccanoil is a brand built on the healing power of Argon oil. All of their products contain this amazing ingredient, and all their products are designed to be luxury and high quality. They also feature their signature scent in each product. They seek to minimize their impact on the environment, donate to good causes, and strive to be conscientious in their packaging.
How I tested…
I used this as instructed over the course of a few weeks. I only used it about once a week and then I took notes on how my hair felt and looked after use.

💙Easy to use and not time consuming- it only takes 5 minutes and achieves hydrated hair!
💙Infused with antioxidant-rich argon oil
💙Improves hair texture, elasticity, shine and manageability
💙The mask has a lovely creamy feeling that is satisfying and east to brush evenly through my hair.
💙Works great for medium to thick dry hair
💙Has a pleasant smell which though it’s not my favorite, is lightweight and doesn’t linger too much.
💙My ends felt very soft after I applied
💙Definitely reduced frizz!
❌It is more pricey than I usually use.
❌It isn’t technically made for my hair type
⭐️⭐️⭐️ and 1/2 ⭐️
As usual I have enjoyed my Moroccanoil mask! It does soften my hair and leave it looking better than before. It also preserves moisture in my hair which means my hair styles look good longer! However, this technically isn’t meant for my hair which I could sense from my roots. They felt a little more weighted down and like there was a little buildup on them. If your hair is more porous than mine, this should not be a problem for you!
One thing I’m less pleased about is that this is not labeled as a cruelty-free product. It’s hard to find accurate information on whether Moroccanoil is a cruelty-free brand or not (some say they are, others say they aren’t).

Why you can trust me…
I have posted a lot about my haircare journey and healthy hair has become a passion for me! I’ve done a lot of research to understand my hair and it’s needs as well as tried a lot of brands and products to narrow down what works best!
Is this the mask of my dreams?? Simply put… no. I want a product that uses natural ingredients. While the brand is taking steps in the right direction, there are other brands offering what I am looking for without harmful ingredients. Second, this mask should work for all hair types but it’s not the best for mine. While I really can use its hydrating properties, it’s a little too heavy for my hair. I do really like that it reduces frizz!
What about for you? I think Moroccanoil has great products and some are more natural than others. If clean ingredients are not an issue for you, this mask would work really well. It’s not the most affordable but a little does a lot so it may very well be worth it!
