I was lucky enough to be sent the Glossier Futuredew by @PrismPop Testers to test out and see how i liked it!
This facial oil serum has been all over social media, becoming a bit of a cult beauty sensation.
But is it worth the hype? 🤷♀️ To make sure your hard-earned cash goes exactly where it should, I've tried, tested, and reviewed this glow-promising serum to see once and for all if it's worth your dollars.
What is Glossier Futuredew?
Glossier actually first created this as a face oil serum. The goal was to create a product that would give you that fresh, silky-smooth, glowing skin that's all over Insta right now. If all went to plan, you wouldn't need golden hour to see your skin at its best!
After opening my package, I found the standard beautiful Glossier packaging (as seen in image 1 + 2) and the serum itself is a gorgeous holographic millennial pink with a glossier pink lid and pump 💕. The pump itself is the standard pump that you would expect.
The pump is also a great way to keep the product airtight and promote hygiene (no oily fingers dipping into products, hooray!).
When I pumped some product out I was really taken aback since it looked kinda tinted but it’s not really, it’s just loaded with lots of gentle sparkles - like mica - which results in that natural glow. After applying it to my face as the company directed (2 pumps on the whole face and more on high points) I noticed a really natural-looking glow that didn’t look too wet.
For best results, it should be a step in your skincare routine. Apply after your SPF but before any make-up. You can also dab a little over your make-up as a highlighter for a gentle, non-glittery glow. 💫
Okay, let's get onto the all-important first impressions!
So when I first pumped out the product, I was taken aback that it wasn't tinted. It doesn't look clear, but rather than having any colour to it, it's simply loaded with a gentle sparkle. This isn't glitter and there's no product left behind on the skin, but it does make it clear that it's going to be a very glowy product.
After applying it to my face, I was super pleased with the natural-looking glow it gave my skin. It didn't look wet or greasy, just... healthy!
For me, the closest comparisons to Futuredew are:
Rodial Soft Focus Glow Drops (2nd swatch)
Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Prism Cream (3rd swatch)
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Glowing Perla (4th swatch)
These are compared in my swatch images (image 4).
I think it performed the closest to the Glow Drops in being a more natural-looking glow, the biggest difference between the two aside from color is that the Futuredew has more slip (and thus glow) due to it being oil-based.
In comparison to the PTH or ABH illuminators, the Futuredew is far more natural and can be worn without any makeup whereas the PTH & ABH ones cannot be worn without makeup. That's a great bonus for Futuredew 👍🏽
What About the Ingredients?
I like to run my skincare products through INCIDecorder to check that they're going to be good for my skin. If you're wondering is this product dermatologist recommended? it's a great tool to check ✅
With plenty of Superstar and Goodie ingredients and the only one that could cause irritation for a few people, Futuredew has got a very positive looking ingredient list. Some super great ingredients include sugarcane squalane, jojoba grape seed evening primrose and rosehip oils, and grape seed oil.
In fact, the ingredient list is so good that you can wear Futuredew to bed! 😴 The oil serum can be used on your face as the last step before you sleep so that you'll have bright, glowy skin when you wake up. Love that!
Can Futuredew Be Used as a Primer?
You definitely can use it as a primer. I found the serum added a lot of glow and illuminated the skin for a dewy base. The added layer should help make-up to sit on the skin and stay in place, and the glow should last for most (if not all) of the day.
Is This a Product You Should Buy?
I've peeked at other people's Glossier skincare products reviews and a lot of people say that this is one of the best Glossier products on the market. From my own experience, I do agree!
But, is it a product for you? Well, that's up to what you're looking for.
If you already have oily skin, Futurdew probably won't work well with your complexion. But for dry skin that lacks a glow, or even normal skin that needs a boost, I'd give it a go.
It's also super important to note that all Glossier products are cruelty-free! Neither they nor any company in their supply chain test on animals, and they don't sell any products in places where animal testing is legally required. 🐰
To buy the product, search for Glossier near me to find your closest store or shop online on their website.
