What is Tinted Moisturizer?
A tinted moisturizer is basically a makeup and skincare product that lies on a scale somewhere between a foundation and a moisturizer, depending on how much coverage it offers. The one thing all tinted moisturizers have in common is, of course, that they are moisturizing. But after that, there can be a lot of differences. Some people just want a little bit of extra hydration and a little bit of extra color to even out their skin tone. While others might want more of a light to medium coverage to help cover up any imperfections. Some tinted moisturizers offer SPF in them, too, so they act as an all-in-one product! Some might have a glowing and radiant finish, perfect for those with normal to dry skin types, while others might have more of a matte finish, perfect for those with normal to oily skin types. Whichever one you choose, you are sure to look radiant!
How to Apply Tinted Moisturizer?
To apply a tinted moisturizer, many people and even makeup artists themselves recommend simply using your fingers! Treat the tinted moisturizer just as you would any other moisturizer and apply it to your face and blend from the center of the face towards the outer part of the face. You can also use a makeup sponge to blend in a tinted moisturizer, but many people do find that they waste less product if they simply use their fingers to blend the moisturizer in rather than having it absorb onto a sponge or a brush. If you are going for a dewy and glowing finish, it is not recommended to use powder over tinted moisturizer as the powder will overpower the tinted moisturizer’s finish. However, powder does work great if you prefer a more matte-looking finish. Finish the look off with some of your favorite setting spray, and you are ready to start the day!
